Position: Teacher of the Deaf (Secondary)

Location: Haringey

Contract: Permanent / Full-Time

Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (Dependent on experience)

We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable teacher who:

· Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in a primary or secondary school setting.

· Is passionate about inclusive education and supporting students with hearing impairments.

· Does not need a Teacher of the Deaf qualification but must be willing to undertake training.

· Is eager to learn British Sign Language (BSL) if not already proficient.

· Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, staff, and parents effectively.

Your Responsibilities:

· Plan and deliver engaging lessons, ensuring accessibility for deaf and hearing-impaired students.

· Work closely with specialist staff, including interpreters, audiologists, and SEN teams.

· Use a variety of teaching strategies, including visual and kinaesthetic approaches, to support student learning.

· Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.

· Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes confidence and independence.
