Wintel Engineer – 6-month contract – London/Remote – Outside of IR35
My customer is looking for an experienced Wintel Engineer with a passion for Windows Server administration, automation, and system reliability.
Ideally the Wintel Engineer would have strong experience with PowerShell scripting as well as contribute to a restore project that is taking place, bringing along their backup and restore skills to help with Data retention.
Key responsibilities of the Wintel Engineer
- Experienced System Engineer/ 3rd Line Support Engineer/Infrastructure Engineer/ Server Engineer
- Windows Server Patching & Maintenance – Manage and support Windows Server environments (Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022).
- PowerShell Scripting – Develop and optimize scripts for automation, configuration management, and system monitoring. Using PowerShell scripts to delete files.
- Database Support – Work with databases (ideally SQL) to support business applications and infrastructure needs.
- M365 Administration – Experience with Microsoft 365 is highly desirable.
- Backup & Recovery – Implement and maintain robust data retention, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth IT operations and project delivery.
This Wintel engineer is required onsite in London, 3 days a week for the duration of the 6-month contract.
