Full Time: Mon - Fri Office Based - 35/hrs a week

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION

To work as part of a team in the provision of comprehensive support functions to the Cemetery Service, ensuring the provision of continuous administrative processes that deliver a high quality, customer focused burial and cremation service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertake cemetery, cremation and memorial administration tasks ensuring all work processes and procedures are followed.
  • Provide a customer reception service and telephone answering service in the main office or other location as directed.
  • Advise customers on all aspects of cemetery, cremation and memorial enquiries including burial rights, grants, permits, cemetery and crematorium regulations and codes of practice.
  • Liaise with members of the public and funeral directors in the arrangements for grave selections, memorial appointments and the disposal of cremated remains.

Duties

  • Meet with families and assist them in selecting a memorial in accordance with their needs.
  • Assist in selling cemetery and cremation memorials such as vaults, mausoleum and sanctums and follow up any income opportunities that may arise from memorial enquiries
  • Undertake tasks relating to enforcing memorial regulations policy across all sites, including meeting face to face with families that are affected.
  • Carry out all administration relating to memorial infringements ensuring records are kept updated, actions documented and areas monitored.
  • Coordinate with the cemetery operations team in the removal of infringements and the reinstatement of the grounds afterwards.
