Are you enthusiastic about science education and ready to make a difference in a hands-on role? We are seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join a secondary school in Haringey. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of engaging science lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

This is a full-time role, due to start in March and will be for the academic year, with the possibility of a permanent role after that.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation & Setup: Organise and prepare equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical science lessons.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure the safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals and equipment in line with regulations.
  • Practical Support: Assist teaching staff during practical sessions and demonstrations.
  • Lab Maintenance: Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring the labs are organised and fully stocked.
  • Safety Compliance: Conduct routine safety checks and uphold high safety standards.

Requirements

  • A genuine interest in science and knowledge of school lab procedures.
  • Excellent organisational skills and close attention to detail.
  • A proactive and supportive attitude when working with teachers and students.
  • Basic IT skills and the ability to learn new systems.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations within a lab environment.
