Job Title: Interim Assistant/Deputy Headteacher (3-6 Month Placement)

Are you an experienced school leader with a passion for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have a strong background in SENCO responsibilities and safeguarding? We are seeking an Interim Assistant Headteacher for a 3-6 month placement to join our dynamic leadership team and make a real difference in the lives of our students.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide leadership and support in all aspects of Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring that pupils receive the appropriate support to thrive academically and personally.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are effectively implemented and adhered to.
- Oversee and manage the SENCO duties, working closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to create and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure compliance with SEND legislation.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team on strategic planning and school improvement initiatives.
- Provide day-to-day leadership support, including staff development, curriculum planning, and behavior management.
- Proven experience working as a senior leader in an educational setting, with a focus on SEN provision.
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) and a relevant SENCO qualification (or significant SEN experience).
- Extensive knowledge of SEN policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), with in-depth understanding of child protection policies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-working skills.
- Ability to start immediately and commit to a 3-6 month placement.
