Senior Education, Health and Care Coordinator

Location: Ealing

Salary: £47,532 - £49,551 per annum inclusive (Grade 11)

The Role

The council are looking for senior officers to lead their Education, Health and Care teams.

You will be joining an aspirational leadership team who are focused on securing the very best outcomes for their children and young people. They are reflective and evidence-based practitioners who are committed to delivering effective SEND support that meets the needs of their children, young people and their families. Their team is forward thinking, and they welcome innovative practice that supports them to plan for future provision.

This Senior EHC Coordinator will be responsible for supervising EHC Caseworkers, taking a lead role in managing complex casework and leading on specific areas of responsibility in the team.

The successful candidate will lead a team of Education, Health and Care Coordinators (EHCCOs) to deliver effective support, advice and provision to children, young people and their families. The focus will be on quality, consistency and timeliness, particularly in relation to assessments, annual reviews and provision.

Skills and Qualifications

  • You will have substantial experience as a senior case officer, and an excellent understanding of the guidance and legislation relating to education and SEND.
  • You will be up to date with the national guidance, proposals, trends, debates and best practice in relation to SEND and Inclusion.
  • You will have the ability to provide expert advice to staff on aspects of SEND practice, including tribunals, transport, post 16, preparation for adulthood, provision and funding.
  • You will have substantial experience of working with other SVC agencies, parents, schools and providers, including EY and P16 provisions.
  • You will have experience of managing performance, conduct and professional practice of others.
