BSL Teaching Assistant - Camden School | Full-Time | 90-100 per day

TimePlan Education is looking for a passionate British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Assistant with BSL Level 1 or higher to support Deaf students at a school in Central London. This role is a full-time, contracted position starting after the October half-term (week commencing November 4th), with the potential to become permanent in September 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Teacher of the Deaf, using a Total Communication approach to ensure Deaf pupils have full access to learning.
  • Provide support in both mainstream classrooms and the Centre for the Deaf, assisting with learning, progress, and inclusion.
  • Facilitate Deaf pupils' engagement with the curriculum and their participation in all learning activities.
  • Encourage independence in learning and other aspects of school life.

Key Requirements:

  • BSL Level 1 qualification or above, with experience in primary school settings.
  • Understanding of the needs of students from diverse backgrounds, including those with sensory impairments and special educational needs.
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written, and BSL).
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Good organisational, time management, and ICT skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
