Computer Science Teacher

An outstanding Ofsted rated secondary school in Hillingdon are currently looking for a computer Science Teacher.

The school are looking for someone who can start in January 2025 and commit until July 2025 with the possibility of continuing in the next academic year or transferring permanently.

This position is full time, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm.

Salary will match upper London MPS/UPS.

Computer Science Teacher is expected to:

  • be able to deliver highly focused lesson design with sharp learning objectives
  • help students understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science
  • deliver concepts of abstraction, logic, algorithms and data representation
  • be able to work with students to build on and extend the foundation learning levels
  • enhance students to apply information technology, including new or unfamiliar technologies, analytically to solve problem
  • provide regular feedback to students

The school's computing curriculum encourages students to use thinking and creativity to understand and change the world. Computing skills will have links with mathematics, science and design and technology, and provides insights into both natural and artificial systems. Building on this knowledge and understanding, students are equipped to use information technology to create programs, systems and a range of content.

Qualifications and Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A relevant degree
  • Proven experience teaching Computer Science
  • Excellent subject knowledge with the ability to inspire and motivate students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
