Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary: £90 to £110 per day (dependent on experience)

GSL Education is currently seeking a compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant for special schools in Tower Hamlets. This role involves supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them navigate their academic journey and emotional development. Prior experience in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting is preferable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to students with SEMH and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Assist in managing challenging behaviours and implementing personalised support plans.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCo to promote a positive learning environment.
  • Foster the social and emotional growth of students, helping them develop self-regulation strategies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an SEN or SEMH setting is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students with complex needs.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
