Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners? Do you have a strong background in supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities? TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work one-on-one with a non-verbal Reception student at a primary school in West Norwood, starting in September 2024.

The Role:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

- Provide one-on-one support to a non-verbal Reception student, helping to facilitate their learning and development.

- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to the student's specific needs.

- Use a range of communication methods, including visual aids and assistive technology, to support the student's learning and communication.

- Collaborate with the classroom teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure the student receives comprehensive support.

- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where the student can thrive.

Requirements:

- Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant is essential.

- Proven experience supporting non-verbal children or children with similar needs.

- Strong understanding of SEND best practices and strategies.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.

- A valid DBS check or willingness to apply for one.
