The Opportunity:

Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Southwark, working specifically with Year 11 students as they prepare for their GCSEs. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about supporting students with additional needs, ensuring they have the tools and confidence to succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCo, class teachers, and pastoral team.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group assistance to Year 11 students who require additional academic support, particularly in core GCSE subjects
  • Help students remain engaged and focused during lessons, adapting materials where necessary
  • Support students with SEN needs, ensuring they feel confident and included in their learning
  • Liaise with teachers and support staff to track progress and adjust interventions accordingly

Who We're Looking For:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience working in a secondary school or supporting students with SEN
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff, students, and parents
  • Ability to motivate and encourage students, fostering a positive learning environment
  • A commitment to safeguarding and student well-being

Additional Information:

  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday
  • Paid up to 110 per day, term time only
  • Based in Southwark, London, with excellent transport links
  • Immediate start, with potential for a long-term placement
