SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support - Primary School - Haringey - ASAP Start After Easter
A fantastic primary school in Haringey is seeking two experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 support for pupils with behavioural and communication needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in a child's learning journey.
Role 1: SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 1 (Non-Verbal, Behavioural Needs)
Provide 1:1 support to a non-verbal Year 1 pupil with behavioural challenges.
Assist with communication strategies, using PECS and Makaton (training can be provided).
Implement behaviour management strategies to support engagement.
Work closely with SENCO, teachers, and external professionals.
Offer a nurturing and structured learning environment.
Role 2: SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 3 (Behavioural Needs)
Provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with behavioural difficulties.
Implement individual learning strategies to encourage participation.
Foster emotional and social development through positive reinforcement.
Support the pupil both in and out of the classroom.
Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN professionals.
Candidate Requirements:
Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
Experience working with children with behavioural needs.
Strong understanding of SEN strategies and interventions.
Patience, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
