SANZA Teaching Agency is exclusively partnering with a wonderful primary school in Hackney, Stoke Newington, to find a dedicated Year 5/6 Teaching Assistant. This role involves supporting a composite class of 23 pupils in years 5 and 6 throughout the entire academic year.

About the Role

We are seeking a capable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who can provide support in all areas of the curriculum. You will need to be strong in Maths and Literacy to be considered for this role. The ideal candidate will have a lovely classroom presence and be proficient in managing behaviour effectively both in the classroom and during break duty.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the teaching of maths and literacy, ensuring pupils grasp core concepts.

Assisting the teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities.

Helping to manage classroom behaviour, creating a positive learning environment.

Supervising and supporting students during break times.

Working with small groups or one-on-one to provide additional support where needed.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualities:

Strong understanding of the Year 5 and 6 curriculum, particularly in maths and literacy.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage behaviour effectively and maintain a positive classroom environment.

Previous experience working with primary school children is preferred.

A proactive and flexible approach to supporting the teacher and students.
