We are looking for a Live-In Dog Handler/Houseman to care for 5 dogs (2 adults and 3 puppies) for a longstanding client based in Belgravia, London.
You will work alongside another Handler to provide care for the family's 5 dogs, taking them for long walks and ensuring they are well cared for in all respects. The dogs are large and energetic so you must be physically fit and strong to be able to handle them. The role would suit someone who has a background in security in a dog handling role.
There will be a significant amount of travel with the role, usually for periods of up to 2 weeks at a time, up to 6 months of the year.
You will be required to take care of the dogs when the owners are away so we are looking for candidates who are able to offer a high degree of flexibility.
This is a live-in role with an amazing apartment provided in Knightsbridge which includes a shared space with the other Handler and the 3 puppies.
Responsibilities:
- Dog handling, caring, walking, and feeding.
- Managing the dogs' wellbeing and liaising with owners regarding their care.
- Taking dogs to appointments (vet, grooming, etc.).
- Flexibility to perform occasional ad-hoc jobs for the Principals.
- Driving worldwide when required
Requirements:
• Previous experience in dog handling and care.
• Experience in close protection (CP) or security is essential.
- Must have a full, clean driver’s license and be comfortable driving internationally. • Energetic and fit, capable of managing the needs of large dogs.
• Flexibility to work weekends
• Ability to access the US is a must.
Hours: 5 days a week, usually Monday-Friday although you must be flexible to work weekends eg. when travelling
You will be in a 2-man team with time off by rota. Flexibility is key!
Salary: £70-75k GPA
