Job Description: We are looking for a skilled Surveyor to undertake a range of property surveys and inspections, ensuring that our housing stock meets the required standards for quality, safety, and compliance. You will be responsible for assessing the condition of properties, managing maintenance projects, and providing expert technical advice to ensure that our housing services meet the needs of our residents and adhere to relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct property surveys and inspections across our housing stock to assess the condition, identify maintenance needs, and ensure compliance with building regulations and housing standards.
  • Prepare detailed survey reports, including identifying defects, safety issues, and any necessary repairs or improvements.
  • Oversee and manage planned maintenance programs, including major repairs, refurbishments, and compliance works.
  • Work closely with contractors, maintenance teams, and housing management to coordinate and manage repair and maintenance works.
  • Provide expert technical advice to the Housing Department on building issues, including repairs, refurbishments, and legislative compliance.
  • Monitor progress of ongoing works, ensuring they are completed to a high standard, on time, and within budget.
  • Ensure that all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and local authority policies.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of asset management strategies for housing properties.
  • Review and assess long-term maintenance needs, helping to plan and prioritize works to maintain housing stock.
  • Provide regular updates on the status of housing projects, repairs, and inspections to relevant stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Liaise with tenants, contractors, and external agencies to resolve issues and ensure housing services are delivered effectively.
