The Director of People and Acquisition (Consultancy) is a pivotal role within Altair and a key part of our ambitious growth strategy. This role is home based.

We have a strong and proud track record of supporting clients with strategic HR projects including:

Pay and reward, workforce planning, organisational design, wider people strategies, providing support to organisations with the search and recruitment to both Executive and Non-Executive roles

This role is responsible for leading, developing, shaping and implementing our approach to growing and diversifying our HR and recruitment services offer across all the sectors we work in.

Key objectives of the role include:

  • Overseeing the development of a strong pipeline of opportunities in the People, HR and Recruitment business stream through credible and positive relationships with clients and developing a strong external profile and network.
  • Overseeing the delivery of high-quality consultancy projects to time and on budget.
  • Reporting to the Altair Consultancy Leadership Team on the performance of the People, HR and Recruitment stream, with a focus on pipeline, committed income, quality, revenue and gross profits. ??
  • Lead and develop the People, HR and Recruitment teams.
  • Work to drive collaboration with other Business Streams / individuals to ensure that the clients receive the best possible service with the skills of staff matched to client requirements. ??
  • Keep up to date with emerging trends within HR and Recruitment, ensuring that the services provided with the People, HR and Recruitment business stream are invested in and continually evolve to meet client needs.
  • Collaborating with the Marketing team to develop and implement a full marketing strategy and plan for the HR and Recruitment service offer.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Business Stream

  • Develop the annual business and resource plan for the Business Stream.
  • Be accountable for the delivery of core financial targets i.e. revenue and gross profit.?
  • Oversee the development of framework / methodologies / templates etc. which are used to deliver services to clients.

Business Development

  • Drive business development efforts by building a strong pipeline of opportunities, targeting a consistent flow of valuable projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong external networks and profile with the relevant sectors.
  • Work with the central bid management team to ensure that opportunities are identified, and high-quality bids are submitted.
  • Achieve financial targets by maintaining a high average day rate and optimising team utilisation to meet the organisation's revenue goals.

Service Delivery

  • Ensure the effective delivery of client projects, focusing on quality, timeliness, and budget adherence to meet client expectations and contribute to Altair's reputation for excellence.?
  • Support the stabilisation and growth of the team, by embedding efficient p processes, and building a robust project pipeline

Marketing

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop and implement a full marketing plan for the People, HR and Recruitment business stream.
  • Develop and maintain a strong external presence in the sectors we work in through thought leadership activities, including the publication of industry- relevant articles and participation in conferences and webinars.?
  • Engage with key sector organisations to position Altair as a leader in the HR consultancy space, thereby enhancing the company's influence and credibility.

Compliance and Internal Processes

  • Ensure adherence to all internal processes, including accurate reporting, invoicing, and utilisation of CRM systems, to maintain operational efficiency and transparency.?
  • Contribute to the achievement of organisational financial targets, playing a key role in supporting Altair's overall business plan objectives.

Education

•CIPD Level 7 in strategic human resources or equivalent

•Chartered or fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)

Knowledge and Experience

  • Significant knowledge of best practice HR approaches and processes
  • Strong and up to date knowledge of employment law
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering projects
  • Experience of working with senior stakeholders, including boards on complex, HR topics
  • Experience of undertaking complex investigations and reviews
  • Demonstrable track record of developing organisational change initiatives and implementing them
  • Experience of merger and acquisitions
  • Significant experience of developing and implementing pay and reward strategies and approaches
  • Knowledge and experience of applying sound research methods and?approaches?
  • Significant experience in a senior HR leadership role or a senior strategic business partner role

  • Experience of developing credible and positive relationships with senior stakeholders including executives and boards.

  • Experience of either the housing, education, charity, public or third sector

  • Proven track record in developing and implementing strategic plans

  • Proven ability to lead thought leadership initiatives
