The Greater London Authority (GLA) are looking to recruit a HR Performance and Governance Lead to manage strategic planning across our People Function. This role is pivotal in driving our People Function Leadership Team to effectively lead the people agenda across the organisation, ensuring strategic alignment and effective decision-making.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and communicate an integrated plan for the People Function, ensuring alignment with business priorities and the overarching People Strategy.
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing review of the People Strategy, collaborating with senior leadership to ensure its success.
  • Maintain a forward plan to ensure timely discussion of key people issues, prioritising matters and assessing the impact of decisions across HR to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Establish and implement governance controls, frameworks, and processes to maintain the integrity of the People Function operating model.
  • Oversee the development of a People insights strategy, utilising workforce data to enable data-driven discussions at senior meetings.
  • Manage staff and budgets in accordance with organisational policies and ethical standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in providing a PMO function or project management discipline within a similar organisation.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting complex workforce reports.
  • Experience interpreting complex data.
  • Strong knowledge of strategic People functions.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of presenting information clearly and engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking ability, with a knack for translating vision into actionable plans.
