A leading public sector organisation is active in a search for an experienced HR and Employee Relations Advisor to join them on a permanent basis

City of London

Salary ; £38.000 - £40.000 DOE, good benefits , including travel across Zones 1 - 6 &

generous pension

Hybrid - 3 days on site, 2 working from home

The role

Reporting directly into the HR Business Partner, you will provide expert HR advice to managers and colleagues across all business areas on our policies, procedures, employment law and best practice.

You:

  • will guide and support, evaluate risks and provide advice on a wide range of topics. This will include a broad range of HR matters including probation, disciplinary, grievance, performance management, recruitment, attendance and engagement.
  • assist the HR Business Partner team with employee engagement, strategy and other such projects as required.
  • Enable managers to achieve positive results by giving clear direction around engagement with our colleagues.
  • will stay up to date with changes in UK employment law, as well as being confident working with Trade Unions.
  • will have excellent stakeholder management and pride yourself on your ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the wider business

Essentials needed for this role

  • Previous experience of working in a generalist HR Advisor role
  • Part CIPD qualified (or equivalent) ( Desirable)
  • Proven experience of working with full range of employee lifecycle processes
  • Up-to-date knowledge and proven application of UK employment legislation
  • Previous experience of managing complex Employee Relations cases (including absence management)
  • Confidence to consult with appropriate stakeholders to arrive at an answer, knowing when to escalate for advice
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently and handle conflicting multiple tasks
  • Ability to prioritise in a busy environment
  • Proven experience of working with Trades Union
  • Working knowledge of railway terms and conditions (desirable)
