As part of our commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment, we are seeking a motivated People Advisor to support our HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and lead key HR initiatives.About the Role:As a People Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the HRBPs with key employee lifecycle processes. You will take ownership of managing maternity and paternity leave from start to finish, as well as overseeing sickness and absence management. You’ll work closely with managers, providing expert advice and ensuring compliance with HR policies. With an existing HR Operations team to support day-to-day administration, your focus will be on adding value to strategic HRBP activities and delivering end-to-end support for these core HR processes.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end process for maternity, paternity, and parental leave, ensuring a smooth experience for employees and managers.
  • Manage sickness and absence cases, providing advice and guidance to managers, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal obligations.
  • Support HRBPs with employee relations matters, offering guidance on policies, best practices, and procedures.
  • Work closely with managers to monitor and manage long-term sickness cases, ensuring timely interventions and return-to-work processes.
  • Provide support during consultations or sensitive conversations with employees around leave or absence-related issues.
  • Collaborate with the HR Operations team to ensure seamless execution of processes, such as issuing contracts and maintaining employee records.
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving employee wellbeing, engagement, and productivity.
  • Ensure that all HR policies and processes are followed in line with current legislation and best practices.
Key Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar Junior HR Advisor, HR Coordinator, or HR Generalist role, ideally within a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in managing maternity, paternity, and parental leave, as well as sickness and absence management.
  • Familiarity with UK employment law, particularly around leave and absence policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with managers and employees.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate complex employee relations cases.
  • Experience working closely with HRBPs or senior HR stakeholders to support business needs.
