We require a HR Optimisation Lead to cover an existing workload within Metropolitan Police, based in Kilburn Police Station (Hybrid working – As per business needs).

This is an interim position for an initial 6 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.

Job Purpose:

  • Provide project management leadership for a programme of work to reduce the use of Adjusted Duties within the organisation.
  • Bringing together different strands of work across a complex landscape of internal and external suppliers.
  • Leading a piece of work to identify continuous improvement and areas of best practice across availability, developing the learning into system improvements and fixes.
  • Provide an overarching map of all HR local roles and responsibilities to declutter and simplify.
  • Create core project and programme documentation for the delivery of the AD work.
  • Develop an internal governance process for managing the delivery of the project.
  • Lead engagement across PPITs to identify areas of best practice and pain points, agreeing the priorities with the BB3.
  • Engage PPITs, the wider HR Service Delivery functions and local business areas to create a map and RACI of all the local HR roles to create options for efficiency and effectiveness improvements.
  • Building an approach which can embed Continuous Improvement across PPITs.

Skills and experience needed to be successful in this role:

  • Extensive public sector experience – Previous policing experience would be highly beneficial.
  • Hybrid role between a business partner role and a case advisor role.
  • HR Services and operations including Business Partnering, Workforce Planning and HR Case Management.
  • Consultancy skills and techniques that include analysing, diagnosing, influencing and facilitation skills to identify opportunities for change to improve efficiency, effectiveness and performance.
  • Strong Project Management and Continuous Improvement skills.

This role offers a competitive salary of £750 - £850 per day Umbrella (based on experience) – inside IR35 and you’ll be working via Reed who offer great benefits such as discounts, cashback offers and more as well as weekly pay.
