Finance/HR Officer - Ealing School

Tradewind Recruitment is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a skilled and proactive Finance & HR Officer to join a welcoming primary school in Ealing, West London. This school is known for its supportive leadership team, vibrant community, and dedication to professional development.

This pivotal role requires someone who can efficiently manage the school's financial, HR, and administrative functions, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of key operations. With modern facilities and a collaborative work environment, this is an ideal position for a detail-oriented professional looking to make a meaningful impact in education.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Manage and monitor all financial administration in line with audit regulations.
  • Prepare and assist with monthly budget reports, highlighting discrepancies or spending trends.
  • Raise and process orders, invoices, payments, and monitor cash flow.
  • Support with budget setting, forecasting, and reconciling accounts.
  • Oversee financial records for extended school services, outings, and pupil-related activities.

Human Resources:

  • Maintain and update staff records (contracts, pay adjustments, absences) on SIMS and iTrent.
  • Record and monitor staff absence, providing reports to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Assist with recruitment processes, including chasing references, processing DBS checks, and preparing interview paperwork.
  • Manage the Single Central Record and complete the annual School Workforce Census.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide high-quality administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Liaise with parents, visitors, and external agencies, maintaining a professional and approachable image.
  • Manage licences, insurance, and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, inventories, and school policies.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience in financial and HR management, ideally within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with school systems such as FMS, SIMS and iTrent is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and maintain confidentiality.
