Our client is a professional membership body, based in the City, who are undergoing an exciting period of change, with proposed updates to their Royal Charter. These changes will modernize their corporate structure; however, people remain central to their mission, and they are committed to supporting and enabling their teams through this transformative period. They are now seeking an exceptional Interim People Business Partner to help drive this change, ensuring the organization continues to be an inclusive, attractive workplace for top talent, for a minimum of 18 months.

The People Business Partner acts as a strategic partner, delivering innovative, effective people solutions and leading key initiatives in EDI, talent management, and colleague engagement. Our client will also consider part time days per week.

Executive Partnering:

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to align people strategies with business goals and the ongoing change program.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to management on workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, and organisational change.
  • Triage people-related issues, ensuring appropriate support and coaching for managers.
  • Build trusted relationships through integrity, transparency, and a results-driven approach.
  • Mentor junior HR team members, aiding their professional development.

Talent Acquisition:

  • Develop and execute a talent acquisition strategy to attract diverse, high-performing candidates.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand specific hiring needs and create targeted recruitment strategies. Define and promote the future employee value proposition.

Talent Mobility:

  • Conduct regular talent gap analyses to identify current and future skills needs.
  • Implement succession plans for key leadership roles.
  • Lead workforce planning initiatives to ensure optimal talent placement.
  • Develop mentoring and coaching programs to facilitate knowledge transfer and skill development.

Colleague Engagement:

  • Drive strategic engagement and EDI metrics.
  • Analyse the colleague experience across the employee lifecycle and prioritise key interventions.
  • Oversee the design and reporting of colleague surveys on engagement, culture, and purpose.
  • Support internal communication and engagement around the change program.

Key Projects & Development Opportunities: While the core focus is senior leadership people partnering, the upcoming change program will require deep involvement in guiding and supporting the people aspects of the transformation.

Essential Skills & Experience HRBP:

  • Proven senior HR leadership experience in complex, fast-paced organisations undergoing change.
  • Strong expertise in employee relations, especially around change management (TUPE, contracts, culture shifts).
  • Ability to translate business strategies into actionable people plans.
  • Proven experience leading succession planning, EDI strategies, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Experience or understanding of the charity or membership sector is advantageous but not essential.
