My client is seeking a BI Engineer to join their team for a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role involves the design, development, and delivery of comprehensive BI solutions using the Microsoft BI stack. This position is ideal for someone with strong T-SQL skills, experience in Performance Dashboard development, and proficiency in data visualisation tools like Power BI.
Day-to-day of the role:- Design and develop BI solutions across the company, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
- Deliver and maintain performance dashboards and SSRS reports to provide essential BI and MI to operational teams.
- Contribute to the development of new solutions using Power BI and adhere to software development patterns and standards.
- Provide technical assistance and development skills across the company, supporting various teams.
- Develop solutions in Visual Studio and manage Azure DevOps pipelines, focusing on Test Driven Development.
- Mentor and guide less experienced MI/BI colleagues and help instil a test-driven development mindset within the team.
- Liaise with third-party software providers throughout the lifecycle of projects, ensuring best practices in design, development, support, and maintenance.
- Highly numerate with significant experience in delivering BI reporting solutions.
- Expertise in T-SQL and a strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL, and database concepts.
- Proficient in Microsoft BI technologies, including SQL Server (2008/12/16), SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI.
- Experience with SQL Server Unit Tests, Azure DevOps, and Visual Studio.
- Desirable skills include CI/CD Pipelines, Azure SQL, and Azure Data Factory.
