A dynamic and fast-growing commodity trading organisation are offering the opportunity for a Senior Contracts Analyst to join their Contracts and Confirmations Team.

Role Overview

As a Senior Contracts Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing the full contract lifecycle of their physical oil trades. You will collaborate closely with traders, legal teams, and external counterparties to ensure the accurate and timely execution of contracts and confirmations. This role requires a deep understanding of the oil trading industry, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex contract structures in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to physical oil trades, including purchase and sale agreements, storage agreements, and transportation contracts.
  • Ensure timely confirmations of trades, reconciling contract terms with trading agreements and ensuring alignment with internal policies.
  • Identify potential contract risks and discrepancies, proposing solutions to mitigate operational, legal, and financial exposure.
  • Work closely with traders, legal teams, risk management, and external counterparties to resolve contract-related issues and ensure smooth transaction flow.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure contracts meet all necessary legal and compliance standards.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline contract processes, improve efficiency, and reduce errors in the contract administration lifecycle.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices within the Contracts and Confirmations team.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong background in contracts working for a physical oil trading company.
  • Deep understanding of physical oil trade flows, contract terms, and industry-specific nuances.
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation, including an ability to manage complex terms and conditions.
  • Familiarity with global oil trading regulations, including sanctions, trade compliance, and anti-corruption laws.

The role is onsite 3 days per week in London with a salary range of £60-70k, depending on experience. The wider package includes bonus, pension, Bupa healthcare and more.
