A newly created role has been created as a London based Senior Financial Systems Business Analyst for a large US law firm. This will be a sole role in London but will work closely with their large systems team in the US and closely with the senior finance team in London as their Elite 3e systems expert.

As the Senior Financial Systems Business Analyst will support the firm's business cycle processes and related technology improvements. You will also work closely with the key stakeholders to help ensure business requirements are understood and met, as well as provide end user operational and application support for the Firm's financial systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide support for the Firm's financial systems, including, but not exclusive to, billingand accounting, budget, procure-to-pay, and expense reporting applications.
  • Collaborate closely with IT and other business departments when supporting system integrations.
  • Participate in data validation and system testing; perform data analysis to investigateissues.
  • Support the development and implementation of training and change management plans.
  • Drive all phases of business process and related technology improvements, including developing and executing on project plans that will lead to successful implementation of these initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to, business requirements gathering and documentation, assisting in the evaluation of technology solutions, developing solution alternatives and recommendations, building test plans, and collaborating with developers.
  • Utilise creative and analytical thinking to develop solution alternatives and recommendations; work with business leads to build trust with the business owners by delivering a constant stream of new innovation ideas that fit within finance strategies.
  • Perform project management duties for smaller scale business process improvements and other Finance project initiatives

Experience needed:

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a large scale dedicated financial management systems role.
  • Experience with Elite Enterprise or Elite 3E, with specific experience and knowledge of revenue cycle functions
  • Process improvement experience with a global, multi-currency, multi- jurisdictional law firm or professional services firm.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), ability to apply those standards into legal industry processes and controls.
  • Knowledge and/or an interest in developing SQL skills, including the creation of queries and transforming data into reporting and analytics, is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are required and the individual must be proactive and results oriented. Individuals are expected to exhibit strong customer service skills and a commitment to excellence.
