Our Client are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Regional Business Development Manager to lead growth across the South & London region. In this pivotal role, you will drive new enquiries, transform bids into sales and foster lasting relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring successful business opportunities within the Southern region for the Multi-Utility Connections business arm of the business.

To deliver exceptional account management to existing customers, whilst developing and nurturing relationships with potential clients. Maximising sales opportunities in a designated area, providing sales and engineering support for customer enquiries and orders. This role involves implementing company processes and adhering to procedures, as well as providing outstanding customer service
to support and grow business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business by targeting and converting enquiries into sales opportunities
  • Proactively develop a pipeline of new business to achieve or exceed agreed targets
  • Build and maintain a portfolio of key accounts to ensure high levels of repeat business and client satisfaction
  • Interpret customer needs by having a deep understanding of the Utility Industry and develop excellent working relationships
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager, Business Development Co-ordinators, and Sales & Tendering Engineers to deliver high-quality quotations within agreed timelines
  • Monitor and evaluate personal performance to achieve set objectives and targets
  • Stay informed about competitor activities and market trends
  • Partner with colleagues across departments to enhance the sales process and customer journey
  • Identify and explore new business streams, including participation in regional and national sales events

Experience & Qualities

  • Proven track record of success in similar roles, with a history of meeting and exceeding targets.
  • Experience in the Utility Connections sector or customer-focused sales and tendering roles.
  • Strong portfolio management skills, with the ability to handle large customer bases effectively.
  • Confident communicator capable of building excellent relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong IT skills to include the Microsoft Office suite, but mostly Outlook, Word and Excel
