Technical Lead, System and Applications, fully remote

Applications focused Tech Lead required for a leading professional services organisation based in London.

The successful candidate will provide all-round technical support to in life products, services and projects.

The purpose is to provide a high level of technical focus and leadership across a broad range of products and to assist with the delivery of new and upgraded solutions within our clients business.

Engagement is via umbrella company only.

General responsibilities: -

  • Proactive & reactive problem solving
  • Work with third parties implementing technical change to include upgrades and new product delivery
  • Researching of solutions & providing HLDs and recommendations to management teams
  • Review technical aspects of 3rd party proposals and responding in the best interests of the business
  • Continual improvement activities ensuring technologies remain current
  • Maintain technical documentation
  • Tech lead for business continuity events
  • Responsibility for planning and invoking planned regular product upgrade roadmaps
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in Microsoft Azure cloud technologies, best of breed applications and legal specific tool and ensure the sharing knowledge with the team.
  • Management of the 3rd line function including managing objectives, performance and day to day administration
  • Planning of the BAU programme plan ensuring that all end-of-life services are removed ahead of time and ensuring capacity to complete project work in a timely manner.
  • Responsibility for roadmaps including suggestion planning and making recommendations

Skills and experience: -

  • Strong practical experience in a 3rd line application environment
  • Experience in a comparable role where you are able to demonstrate experience of technical leadership
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Server environments and M365/O365 including Azure Active Directory, Teams etc.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services, including Azure Virtual Machines and Azure Networking, Azure AD etc
  • Beneficial would be knowledge of core legal business applications e.g. iManage, Intapp Time, Elite 3E
  • ITIL
  • Able to demonstrate in-depth problem-solving and solution-based thinking
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation including technical manuals, standard operating procedures etc
  • An ability to analyse complex problems and understand root cause analysis
