A highly successful IT and telecommunications services company based in Central London seeks a Help Desk Engineer.

In this role, you will be working in the customer office 5 days a week, responsible for troubleshooting for the 1st and 2nd lines and act as an escalation point, managing customer relationships, and providing general IT services configuration and support.

The ideal candidate should have troubleshooting skills, customer service experience, and knowledge of IT environments.

Help Desk Engineer Main Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting for 1st and 2nd Lines and support as an escalation point
  • Waiting-by-sequence management using the IT support ticket system
  • Build good relationships with attending meetings with customers
  • PC support and initial kitting
  • General management and implementation of server environments
  • Understanding the company's IT environment and detailed planning and design
  • Daily IT services configuration
  • Service demonstration and acceptance test
  • Negotiation and management with vendors
  • Developing and implementing new features and services
  • Build or suspend PC/server security systems
  • Schedule management of projects and service provision
  • Profitable systems and considerations for implementation
  • Maintaining safe operations and improving the environment
  • Regular status report to the line manager

Help Desk Engineer Ideal Candidate:

  • Customer service experience
  • Basic knowledge and experience regarding PC software such as Microsoft Windows 10/11/server, MS Office, and antivirus software
  • General knowledge and experience regarding PC hardware, servers, and public clouds
  • General knowledge and experience regarding NW switches/routers/FW products
  • Basic knowledge and experience regarding public clouds such as AWS and Azure
  • Add design, installation, and management experience is also acceptable
  • Experience in cloud design, installation and management is also acceptable
  • Business-level English and Japanese skills
  • Ability to investigate and provide responses to technical-related issues
  • Time management/multitasking/organization skills
  • Accurate attention to detail
  • Bright, extroverted, and positive attitude to work
  • Ability to support all EMEA customer service areas
  • Business level fluency in English
  • Understanding of Japanese culture and some Japanese would be advantageous
