Trade Floor Support / Telecomms Consultant - Financial Services Client (UK & Europe)

We're currently partnering with a leading financial services organization to source an experienced Trade Floor Support Engineer  for a high-impact role supporting critical infrastructure across their European operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled telecoms support/network professional to join a dynamic and forward-thinking technology team within a global, multi-site environment.

Our client operates across four key European locations and maintains a strong focus on delivering robust, scalable technology solutions to support their core business. The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting and evolving the network and telecommunications landscape-spanning voice, data, and market data services-while collaborating with global teams and third-party vendors.

About the Team & Environment

The role sits within a broader Technology Infrastructure & Innovation function, which includes IT, infrastructure operations, transformation, and cybersecurity. This team is responsible for driving enterprise technology strategy, implementing large-scale programs, and maintaining operational excellence across all platforms.

The UK-based technology function works closely with international counterparts, leveraging both in-house expertise and best-in-class technology partnerships to meet the business's evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver technical support across the European network infrastructure, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.

  • Assist in the management of firewalls and internet monitoring tools to maintain secure external communication for end-users.

  • Proactively monitor the network and data center environments; respond to and resolve system alerts and incidents.

  • Provide hands-on support for voice infrastructure, including Cisco PBX, IPC dealer boards, and mobile voice recording systems.

  • Support Market Data services including Bloomberg, Refinitiv, EBS, and ICAP.

  • Contribute to planning and executing network upgrades, incorporating business risk assessments, security considerations, and thorough documentation.

  • Implement automation strategies where appropriate to improve operational efficiency.

  • Troubleshoot and manage Wi-Fi (Cisco Meraki), IPTV, and meeting room AV systems.

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure smooth project delivery and issue resolution.

  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation across all supported environments.

  • Provide on-call escalation support for critical out-of-hours issues.

  • Travel to data centers as required to support infrastructure.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Solid experience in telecommunications and network support within enterprise environments-ideally within financial services or similarly regulated industries.

  • Strong knowledge of IP routing (static/dynamic), DNS, and DHCP.

  • Hands-on expertise with Cisco technologies, including routers, switches, CUCM, ISE (802.1x), and Meraki.

  • Experience with network security tools and platforms (e.g., FortiGate, Palo Alto, Riverbed, Infoblox).

  • Familiarity with trading floor voice systems such as IPC dealer boards and market data platforms (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Tradeweb, etc.).

  • Exposure to mobile device management and mobile voice recording technologies.

  • Understanding of cloud connectivity and emerging AI-driven network solutions is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
