Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer who is passionate about network engineering, and who has awareness of the role of support services in front line delivery.

Description

  • You will take a pivotal role in the design, build and management of the on-premise servers (Windows), virtualisation (Hyper-V) and our cloud infrastructure (Azure). This includes working on both physical and virtual hardware.

  • Ensuring scalability, reliability and security of our infrastructure and collaborating with cross functional teams to meet business requirements.
  • Monitoring and maintain the performance and availability of our infrastructure including regular maintenance such as patching and updates.
  • Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect our infrastructure including ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Leading infrastructure projects from initiation to completion
  • Ensuring our network and infrastructure documentation is grown and kept up to date for team reference and audit.
  • Reporting on infrastructure performance, incident and improvement

Profile

  • Deep understanding of Networks.
  • Ability to carry out patching in a server room/office.
  • A good understanding of Microsoft products, Office 365, Active Directory
  • A good understanding of Hypervisors including VMware, Hyper-V and Nutanix
  • Experience with networking equipment such as Cisco Meraki switches and firewalls.
  • Experience of working with, and troubleshooting, wired and wireless networks with a good understanding of TCP/IP.
  • Strong Windows Server knowledge (AD, Exchange, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, DFS, File Server).
  • Telecoms experience, preferably but not essential 3CX
  • Good networking experience across LAN, WAN & WLAN; with working knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS.
  • Cloud experience would be hugely desirable - particularly with Azure.
  • Understanding of Backup Strategy
