The role is 100% home based.

My UK based client are looking to recruit an experienced Network Engineer for their internal team. You will be supporting a user base with more than 1500 users, within a team of 20.

The role

The Network Engineer provides day-to-day IT networking support to the business. As a key point of contact for the IT team, you will build, deploy, co-ordinate, and maintain the networking IT environment the company needs to run and external operationsThis role is within our Infrastructure team and will assist in both business-as-usual activities as well as key local and strategic projects.

Duties, skills and experience:

Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, phone system, VPN, QoS, SIP, BGP SDWAN, SASE, etc) in Data centre scenarios
Experience in Checkpoint /Palo alto Firewalls and Cisco switches
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
Provide troubleshooting support to resolve issues
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
Evaluate and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
