Sonic Summary

Venn Group is seeking an Interim Network Engineer for a local authority client in London for an initial 3-month contract.
The position offers a daily rate of £400 - £500 umbrella (inside IR35) and requires 4 days of onsite work in central London, with 1 day remote.
The successful candidate will support the Network Team in an SD-WAN migration project, collaborating with Virgin Media and third-party partners.
Essential qualifications include in-depth knowledge of Juniper networking technologies and relevant certifications such as JNCIA or JNCIS.
Candidates should have excellent communication skills and ideally possess prior experience in local government.

Venn Group are working with a local authority client in London to recruit an InterimNetwork Engineer on an initial 3 month contract, to start as soon as possible.

The role is paying £400 - £500 umbrella per day (inside IR35).

The Interim Network Engineer will support an established Network Team and will predominantly be working on an SD-WAN migration project. You will work closely with Virgin Media and 3rd Party partners to migrate from an MPLS managed solution to the new SD-WAN solution.

The role will be primarily onsite – requiring 4 days in the offices (central London) and 1 day working remotely.

Essential skills and experience required of the Interim Network Engineer:

On-site working availability – 4 days per week in central London
In-depth Juniper networking skills: Switches EX, MX, SRX, BGP, OSPF, VRRP, VRFs, MPLS, VLANS, Switching and routing
Excellent communication skills, able to work with 3rd party partners as well as supporting internal stakeholders with coordinating deployments and troubleshooting any issues
Relevant technical qualifications/certifications: JNCIA, JNCIS or equivalent

Desirable skills and experience of the Interim Network Engineer:

Technical knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls – policies, NAT, routing skills
Knowledge of Juniper Mist
Previous Local Government experience
Immediate availability to start a contract
