We’re London’s largest and fastest 100% full fibre broadband provider, bringing better internet to Londoners since 2013. Job purpose:

The Network Engineer is responsible developing, maintaining, improving, and supporting complex environments encompassing services, servers, applications alongside both on prem and cloud platforms.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work in the Network Technology team to deliver projects and own tickets through to resolution as raised by the NOC team.
  • You should be hungry for hands-on experience, have a desire to think outside of the box and have strong understanding in Systems /Infrastructure as well as having a programming background.
  • Help deliver projects including testing, integration and deployment and undertake various BAU activities
  • Create, improve, and maintain automation scripts to increase system maintenance efficiency and reduce repetitive manual tasks.
  • Manage and maintain existing Linux based servers, both on-prem and cloud hosted, including management of security patches, distribution upgrades and configuration management, systems/codebases, installation/configuration/operation of the applications running on the servers.
  • Contribute to improve existing network infrastructure, tools and automation.
  • Act as an escalation point for the NOC and other teams
  • Provide technical support to the team and the wider business and take part in an on call 3rd line support rota

The experience we’re looking for you to bring:

  • The Engineer should have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a network and systems environment.
  • Advanced understanding of Linux.
  • Configuration Management Systems - Puppet / Ansible
  • Source Control - GitLab
  • Scripting Python, Java
  • Experience with both cloud and physical infrastructure: Proxmox, VMware, AWS
  • Application and network security best practices - SSH / Iptables / TLS
  • Experience implementing technologies with a focus on operability, reliability, and scalability.
  • Experiencing provisioning NNI/Peering links
