Senior Network Engineer
A fantastic permanent opportunity has arisen for our high-profile public-sector client as a Senior Network Engineer. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality ICT services that are vital for the efficient and effective functioning of the organisation. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing and managing network solutions that support operationally critical functions.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Design and Management: Lead the design, planning, and provisioning of solution enhancements within the clients Network Environment.
- Expert Guidance: Serve as the subject matter expert for the network environment, promoting its use and development.
- Change Control: Follow the Authority’s change control procedures, ensuring all changes consider business impact and resource implications.
- Documentation: Maintain architectural designs and supporting documentation for the network environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with various teams to integrate new solutions and developments effectively.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure all network activities adhere to security protocols and data protection laws.
- Experience: Proven track record in network management and design, preferably in a 24x7x365 operational environment. Experience with Cisco network devices and enterprise network management tools is essential.
- Certification: CCNP or equivalent level of experience.
- Skills: Strong understanding of WAN and LAN topologies, routing protocols, and TCP/IP networking. Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, security solutions, and data protection regulations.
- Demonstrable expert knowledge of common networking architectures; technologies and products including, but not limited to:
- Cisco network devices: 6500/4331 routers, 9200L switches, 9115APs Cisco Nexus 31108
- Familiarity with traffic analysis products such as: Sniffer Wireshark
- Network monitoring tools such as: SolarWinds Castlerock SNMPc

- Network authentication tools such as: Cisco ISE Microsoft AD
- Wireless products and technologies such as: Cisco Wireless LAN Controller ((WLC) Cisco Mobility Services Engine (MSE)
