We are looking for an Interim Data Project Manager to lead various data projects within the Technology Department of a financial services institution. The successful candidate should have exceptional project management skills and a strong understanding of data processing and analysis.

Description

  • Lead and manage data projects from initial concept through to final delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Identify and resolve data-related issues and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Develop project plans and timelines and monitor project progress.
  • Communicate project status and deliverables with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project documentation.
  • Conduct post-project evaluation and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Profile

A successful Data Project Manager should have:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within a data program, with at least 3 years managing data-related projects or programs.
  • Good understanding of data management, data governance, data analytics, MIS reporting and business intelligence concepts.
  • Familiarity with data management platforms and technologies (e.g., data integration ETL, SQL, data warehouse/Big Query, Hadoop, Spark and other dataflow tools in general).
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Power BI and Tableau)
  • Experience with Agile or Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical details into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capability to manage complex data-related challenges.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, MS Office tools)
