Software Development Manager (Product) - EMEA

Our client, a forward-thinking organisation with global reach, is looking for an exceptional Development Manager to lead their UK-based engineering team. This hybrid role offers flexibility and an exciting opportunity to shape technical strategy and innovation in partnership with a dynamic leadership group.



What You'll Be Doing

As Head of Product Engineering, you'll be at the forefront of product development and delivery, ensuring the engineering team consistently delivers high-quality solutions aligned with strategic business goals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Engineering Leadership Team and Technology Leadership Group to drive and implement the Group Strategy.
  • Building and mentoring a top-tier engineering team, fostering technical excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Developing and delivering technical and product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Leading the transition of on-premise products to cloud-based solutions.
  • Promoting best practices across software engineering, including CI/CD, DevSecOps, and cloud architecture.
  • Driving innovation by staying ahead of emerging technologies and trends.
  • Collaborating with product, UX/UI, and business teams to streamline development, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Ensuring security, compliance, and performance optimisation across all engineering outputs.


What We're Looking For

This role is perfect for a strong leader who combines technical expertise with a passion for people and innovation. You'll need:

  • A strong background in the product development lifecycle and agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Expertise in modern development tools and patterns, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, AWS, and microservices architecture.
  • Experience transitioning products from on-premise to cloud environments.
  • A deep understanding of security, scalability, and performance optimisation.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop large, diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly under pressure.
