The Royal Collection Trust is dedicated to the care and preservation of one of the largest and most significant art collections in the world, comprising over a million objects spread across 15 royal residences in the UK. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Digital Asset Manager to lead the transition of our Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to the cloud. This pivotal role will involve collaborating with key stakeholders to define metadata schemes, ensuring our digital assets are meticulously catalogued, and preparing for a seamless migration to a new cloud-based DAM system.
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring all our digital files are preserved and made accessible so they can continue to be enjoyed by all our users now and in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility to ensure the successful transition of all our digital files from our current storage system to our cloud-based offering.
- Define and implement a comprehensive metadata scheme and develop a thesaurus of approved terms for tagging assets.
- Through configuring the new cloud DAMS environment, you will plan and prepare for the migration, ensuring integration with existing systems.
- You will manage the end-to-end project, co-ordinating with colleagues across the organisation to meet deadlines and specifications.
- Ensuring its continued success, you will provide training to users and conduct a full audit of digital assets, working towards consolidating them into a single repository.
Essential Skills:
- With previous experience in a similar role, you will have a relevant DAM system qualification, or significant experience in DAM system management or digital image library management, coupled with a deep understanding of cataloguing and metadata protocols.
- You can review and improve existing systems and implement best practice.
- You’ll also have experience of developing and implementing DAM workflows and co-ordinating User Acceptance Testing.
- An effective communicator, you can also design and deliver training programmes for the wider team.
- With good stakeholder management skills, you’re adept at collaborate effectively with people at all levels.
- With excellent written skills you can produce reports and communications for a range of audiences.
