Job Title: Spatial Data Team Leader

Location: East London / HYBRID

Contract Details: Temporary, 3 months with potential to extend

Salary: £32.45 - £41.86 per hour (Circa £76+ K per annum)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of officers to provide specialist expertise in spatial data
  • Ensure the creation and maintenance of accurate Corporate Address and Street Gazetteers
  • Act as the Spatial Data Custodian for the division's repositories
  • Handle complaints, enquiries, and requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Utilise relevant ICT systems and applications to deliver an efficient and integrated service
  • Identify and implement changes to improve the spatial data service
  • Prepare policies, procedures, and guidance on spatial data matters
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and performance monitoring requirements
  • Manage the production and update of the Council's Brownfield Land Register
  • Foster effective partnership working with internal and external stakeholders

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of legislation and processes related to spatial data
  • Experience in team management, motivating staff, and meeting deadlines
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality service in a customer-focused environment
  • Familiarity with budget management processes and financial performance measurement
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Experience working with GIS and of desktop GIS systems
  • Previous experience in partnership working and stakeholder management
  • Knowledge of council environment

Technologies:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in relevant ICT systems, databases, and applications
