My global banking client is looking for a Market Risk Senior IT SME, to lead a large global transformation programme.Full details below - please submit a CV if your experience matches. Rate is upto £920pd via umbrella, hybrid working 2/3 days a week in office in central London.Purpose of the Job:
  • Lead the analysis, design, and delivery of IT solutions for the Market Risk function across EMEA.
  • Collaborate with IT business analysts and developers to implement required solutions in EMEA and the USA.
  • Support the CRO IT Platforms lead in developing and evolving the CRO IT Platforms delivery strategy.
  • Manage stakeholders within the CRO Market Risk and other related functions.
  • Assist other CRO IT Platforms team functions in delivering to the CRO function.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Scope and shape new initiative requests from the CRO Market Risk function.
  • Define, prioritise, and groom product backlogs based on initiatives, following Agile methodology.
  • Conduct business and technical analysis, solutions design, and define epics and user stories.
  • Estimate, schedule, and manage delivery of epics and user stories with developers, architects, and QA specialists.
  • Plan and execute sprints, serving as Scrum Master, and conduct Agile ceremonies.
  • Ensure solution delivery is on time, within budget, and meets quality standards.
  • Mitigate delivery risks and handle timely escalations to the CRO IT Platforms Lead.
  • Manage RAID log, production issues log, and delivery reporting.
  • Provide technical and business domain mentoring to other staff.
  • Manage vendor contracts and service ownership of live systems, including change management and deployment.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • 10+ years in a similar technology delivery role within Commercial and Investment Banking Market Risk IT.
  • Deep knowledge of Market Risk methodologies, analytics, and reporting (e.g., VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis).
  • Experience with technology and data architectures, including modern tools for data sourcing, transformation, analytics, and reporting.
  • Proven track record of implementing in-house and vendor solutions on-premise and cloud.
  • Strong system integration experience for risk and regulatory processing.
  • Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Leadership skills to motivate delivery stakeholders.
  • Thorough understanding of IT controls, software development lifecycle, and Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Proficient in data mining, analytics, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of Basel regulations and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive mindset for continual improvement in IT service delivery.
