IT Infrastructure Project Manager

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Infrastructure Project Manager to join our dynamic team. Our consultancy works with leading technology companies, financial institutions, and public sector clients. The successful candidate will have a strong background in a range of technology, with specific experience in data centre migration and a deep understanding of network and infrastructure projects. You will play a critical role in managing complex technical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage end-to-end technical projects, with a particular focus on data centre migration, network, and infrastructure projects.
  • Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication, managing expectations, and maintaining strong relationships throughout the project life cycle.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to project teams, ensuring that all technical aspects are delivered according to best practices and industry standards.
  • Scope & Planning: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. Develop comprehensive project plans, including time-lines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Execution & Delivery: Drive project execution, monitor progress, and ensure the timely delivery of all project milestones. Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact project delivery.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with both internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, technical teams, and vendors, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk logs, and post-project reviews. Provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project deliverables meet the required quality standards and adhere to compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and methodologies within the consultancy.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager, with a focus on data centre migration, network, and infrastructure projects.
    • Solid understanding of data centre technologies, network architecture, and infrastructure components.
    • Experience managing projects for technology companies, financial institutions, or public sector clients is highly desirable.
  • Technical Background:
    • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and data centre operations.
    • Experience in technology-focused roles (e.g., IT Manager, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer) before transitioning to project management is a plus.
    • Cloud platform exposure (Preferably Azure)
  • Project Management Skills:
    • Demonstrated success in managing complex, multi-faceted technical projects from initiation to completion.
    • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2).
  • Communication & Leadership:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
    • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Certifications:
    • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or other relevant certifications are preferred.
    • Technical certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, AWS) are an added advantage.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
