IT Security Analyst | Cyber Security Analyst

Working from home 3 days a week.

This role will act as the day-to-day Security Analyst and will be responsible for supporting the information security functions and continually improving information and cyber security processes and defences.

This role will be pivotal in supporting security strategy and in ensuring the business maintains their Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation.

A day in the life:

  • Monitor and analyse computer systems for security issues
  • Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents
  • Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs
  • Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause
  • Work with the security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities
  • Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard
  • Perform penetration testing
  • Support a cyber security service to proactively prevent attack through the reduction of attack vectors, support a cyber incident response plan (CIRP), business continuity and disaster recovery strategy, and cyber insurance, in the event an attack occurs. As part of which, you will proactively monitor, respond to and remediate any threats through a managed Security Operations Centre (SOC).

What you’ll need:

  • At least three years’ experience in information security or a related field
  • Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques
  • Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts
  • Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Strong ability to research technical challenges and learn quickly to provide security guidance
  • Demonstrated ability of analytical expertise, close attention to detail, critical thinking, logic, and solution-oriented
  • Ability to administer network and host-based tools for pen testing & ethical hacking products
  • Knowledge of host compromise & malware injection techniques
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and provisioning technology
