Crone Corkill are currently partnering with a client who are searching for someone who can provide IT expertise in their offices, as well as on board their vessels. Due to this, experience working in vessels or within the Maritime industry is essential. If you have experience within this sector and are eager to join a growing team, this could be the role for you.
What will you be doing as an IT Support Engineer?
- Working closely with the Head of IT & IT Manager - Escalating issues to them when needed
- Working in a M365 environment and performing admin tasks on various applications
- Providing support to users deskside, over the phone and virtually
- Installing, testing, maintaining and troubleshooting VMs (Hyper-V)
- Supporting mobile devices and tablets. The majority is Android, though they do also have Apple devices
- Working on storage devices and backup software for data and virtual machine backups
- Troubleshooting hardware issues
- Monitoring the performance of systems
- Supporting software applications & systems in the office and onboard the vessels (on-site and Cloud)
- Racking UPS devices
- Managing vendor relationships
What skills do you need to be an IT Support Engineer?
- Experience performing IT tasks onboard vessels or within the shipping industry (essential)
- Relevant university degree (Computer Science, Information Technology etc)
- M365 applications
- Hyper-V
- Windows 10/11
- Physical devices and virtual machines
- NAS Storage devices and Backup software for Data and VM backups
- Supporting Android & Apple devices
- Hardware support
