About the Role:
A leading financial services organisation is seeking a highly skilled Observability Architect to join their team on a fully remote basis. This 6-month contract position is Outside IR35 and offers an immediate start for the right candidate.
Observability Architect Key Responsibilities:
- Observability Design: Architect and implement robust observability solutions that enhance visibility across complex systems and applications.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive observability strategies focused on metrics, logging, monitoring, and tracing.
- AI & ML Integration: Drive the incorporation of AI and ML technologies for automated anomaly detection and incident resolution within IT Operations Analytics (ITOA).
- Mentorship & Training: Mentor team members on observability best practices and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effectively articulate observability designs and objectives to stakeholders, ensuring alignment across the organization.
- CI/CD Integration: Collaborate with engineering teams to embed observability practices into CI/CD pipelines for proactive system monitoring.
- Standards Development: Establish observability standards, policies, and self-service automation to enhance operational efficiency.
- Emerging Technologies: Stay abreast of emerging observability tools and trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance monitoring capabilities.
- Incident Management Optimization: Utilize observability tools to streamline incident management processes and improve root cause analysis.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure observability solutions comply with industry standards and security regulations, safeguarding data integrity and privacy.
Observability Architect Key Skills Required:
- Observability: Extensive experience with enterprise observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) and open-source solutions.
- Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead complex observability projects from conception to execution.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and microservices architectures.
- Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with tools like Terraform or Ansible to support scalable observability infrastructure.
- Real-Time Data Handling: Experience with real-time analytics platforms and methodologies for managing streaming data.
- Integration Skills: Ability to effectively integrate observability solutions with systems of record and engagement.
- Automation & Scripting: Expertise in scripting for automation and adherence to software engineering best practices.
- Cloud Proficiency: Advanced experience working in AWS; relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are advantageous.
- Security Awareness: Understanding of security considerations in observability, including data encryption and access controls.
