Our client, a leading organisation in the financial sector, is seeking a motivated Desktop Support and Technology Bar Support / Associate to join their team in London. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in providing exceptional customer service while resolving technical issues.
Purpose of the Role:In this role, you will provide 2nd Line IT support for desktop environments, including MS Windows, Citrix Receiver, MS Office, and various line-of-business applications. You will play a crucial role in delivering desk-side support for laptops and peripherals, ensuring a seamless technology experience for your colleagues across the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support from the Technology Bar area, assisting colleagues with diverse cultural and language backgrounds.
- Answer calls to the SMBC IT support contact number, create tickets, and escalate issues as needed.
- Address walk-up and email requests, managing ticket resolutions effectively.
- Administer IT environments, including PC builds, configuration, application software, and printing.
- Liaise with 3rd level support groups for escalations and monitor ticket progress.
- Support video conferencing environments and perform daily checks of office printers and meeting rooms.
- Build and maintain laptop environments, logging issues and escalating when necessary.
- Participate in IT projects and support systems infrastructure when required.
Additional Duties:
- Maintain high availability of production environments and ensure the workstation and printer environments are operational 24/7.
- Manage workstation patching and test/deploy updates for stability.
- Ensure incidents and service requests are monitored and managed through the ticketing system, maintaining an accurate audit trail.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Coordinate large-scale movements of desk-side equipment, working with building services and resolver groups.
- Participate in shift rota to provide cover between 07:00 and 19:00, Monday to Friday.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of desktop and server infrastructure, including hardware/software build.
- Proficient in administering and supporting desktop operations and environments.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Experience with ticketing systems and incident management.
