We are currently recruiting for a Reinsurance Claims Adjuster on behalf of our client, one of the leading brands in the global (re)insurance market.

The successful candidate will oversee and help to manage / lead claims within the company's Reinsurance portfolio, comprising Property and Specialty Treaty and Casualty Reinsurance claims, handling and supervising key claims whilst also providing product expertise to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively managing new and existing Treaty Claims, handling claims in accordance with the company's claims philosophy and guidelines.
  • Handling significant and complex Inward Reinsurance Claims, and taking technical referral of claims above authority from the Inward Reinsurance Claims Team.
  • Carrying out technical claims handling reviews for accuracy, completeness and eligibility.
  • Setting reserves and risk flags, assessing FGU, and calculating / paying claims within authority and service levels.
  • Referring claims to senior members of the team, as per authority and guidelines.
  • Assisting on internal quarterly catastrophe estimates and large loss claims reviews.
  • Preparing and distributing documents for claims related reports.
  • Collaborating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders on claims related queries.
  • Attending and participating in regular Claims team and Underwriting meetings.
  • Working with the Claims Manager to plan and deliver the team training schedule.

Key Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role within Reinsurance, with experience of adjusting both Property and Casualty claims. Candidates with relevant Broking / Legal backgrounds will also be considered.
  • A broad range of industry expertise, relationships and market knowledge, including the ability to handle complex claims.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite and knowledge of Tableau or Power BI.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Completion or near completion of industry related designation(s) - ARe, AIC, ACII, CPCU.
