Totum Partners are working with a top law firm to hire a Compliance Cashier for a Residual Balance Project. Reporting to the Compliance Cashier Control Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the firm meets its regulatory responsibilities around residual balances.

The ideal Compliance Cashier will be responsible for:• Investigating flagged files to understand outstanding balances and determine ownership• Documenting findings in the Client Retentions master file and collaborating with fee earners• Escalating complex cases to the Compliance Cashier Control Manager• Providing a detailed review of findings• Following up on outstanding matters• Keeping records updated• Overseeing payments from the charity ledger• Monitoring the residual balance mailbox

The ideal Compliance Cashier will have the following experience:• Experience working in a law firm, particularly handling residual balances• An interest in law firm finance, compliance, and risk• Analytical skills to assess financial data and resolve issues• Effective communication skills and a keen eye for detail
