Job Description

We currently have a great opportunity with a Housing organisation for a Senior Income Officer role on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid role located in East London, requiring the successful candidate to work 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.Job Title: Senior Income OfficerSalary: £40,000 per annumContract: Permanent roleWorking Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PMLocation: East London (HYBRID - 2 days a week in the office, 3 days from home)

Responsibilities of Senior Income Officer
  • Lead on complex arrears cases, including legal action and eviction processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior income officers on arrears recovery and best practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve rent collection and reduce arrears.
  • Represent the organisation at court hearings and tribunals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including solicitors and support agencies.
Requirements for Senior Income Officer
  • Extensive experience in income collection, arrears management, and legal enforcement.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, welfare benefits, and debt recovery processes.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cases and mentor junior team members.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including MS Office and housing management software.
