My client a leading global Insurer are currently looking to add an Assistant Underwriter to their London Market Real Estate team.

With a wealth of experience across a broad range of Property Owners, this market leading team offers a range of insurance solutions to meet the evolving needs of our brokers and clients in the UK and Europe.

Our predominantly London based team underwrites complex and diverse risks in a pragmatic and consistent way and looks to forge long-term partnerships.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support underwriters from submission through to binding stage and all aspects of the underwriting process.
  • Respond to general mid-term questions from brokers and/or internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner, delivering a first-class service and within authority parameters.
  • Interact with brokers and other external parties including third party business providers, including the maintenance and development of good working relationships.
  • Contribute towards underwriting services projects relating to the improvement of existing services.
  • Maintain timely and accurate risk, exposure and premium accounting in the company's policy administration and documentation management systems.
  • Assist underwriting/actuary/modeling by completing pricing models.
  • Provide support to underwriting teams as required with event planning/presentations and meetings.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Real Estate or Property & Casualty Underwriting experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills- articulate and influential.
  • Able to work independently under their own initiative and as a part of a close-knit team.
  • Highly analytical with excellent logic and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to organise efficiently.
  • Strong work ethic with an ability to operate effectively under pressure.
  • Flexible approach and ability to recognise and adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Strong numeracy and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Confident and self-driven and enjoy working to deadlines and targets.
  • A team player with a passion for Property & Casualty insurance business.
