Underwriter

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join a boutique property loans business based in Mill Hill, NW London as an Operations Executive / Underwriter. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the loan underwriting process, ensuring the smooth operation of the loan book and pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loan Underwriting: Assess and underwrite initial loan applications, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, applicants, surveyors, solicitors, and clients.
  • Document Review: Review and analyse a variety of documents, including legal reports, valuation reports, and financial statements.
  • Legal Process: Prepare and instruct solicitors and surveyors on new loans, ensuring compliance with KYC and AML regulations.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of development valuation reports and tranche inspection reports.
  • Operational Support: Assist in the day-to-day management of the loan book and pipeline, providing administrative support as needed.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to review complex documents and extract key information
  • Interest in property and development finance
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desired Experience (Not Essential):

  • Legal training or experience in a legal or financial environment
  • Property industry experience
