They are on the lookout for a Senior Python Developer / Backend Engineer tospearhead the creation and deployment of ground-breaking software solutions. The ideal candidate should possess robust technical acumen, impeccable skills, and a track record of successful project execution. As the Senior Python Developer / Backend Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, design, and QA to conceive, design, and execute top-tier, enterprise-scalable software products that cater to their clients and end-users. While actively coding, you will be responsible for upholding technical excellence throughout development and QA, as well as shaping the architecture of your product domain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a cross-functional team to help drive the development of new features
- Lead change, innovation, and drive transformation within our teams: your expertise willidentify opportunities for improvement in our frontend applications, tooling, and architecture.
- Ensure best practices and patterns: you will advocate and enforce best standards, andpatterns. Your deep understanding of backend technologies will help you to guide yourpeers - ensuring that our code is of high quality.
- Work on automation and process improvement: you will increase efficiency, reliability, and scalability, by creating automated processes that improve development workflows.
- Promote engineering best practices.
- Collaborate and share knowledge: you will engage with the engineering community, using your expertise to contribute to events and knowledge-sharing initiatives. You will inspire and motivate your peers to learn - improving their capabilities.
Required Skills:
- Significant experience in API and web application development in Python (ideally withFlask, FastAPI or similar.)
- Experience with designing and building REST APIs
- Strong GCP skills including configuration management (ideally using terraform).
- Experience with Cloud Functions and Cloud Runs
- Experience with containerisation (docker/ kubernetes)
- Ability to design architectures to meet scalability, reliability and security targets
- Good problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development
- In-depth understanding of best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns.
- Experience in automating builds (CI/CD), feature flags, automated testing, and releasesusing industry-standard tools for the GCP platform.
- Knowledge and experience of Agile methodologies and practices
